A Fawn Discovery

"Come quick and bring your camera!" I grabbed my Nikon that was sitting on the picnic table, and as curious Shadow (our pet dog) and I approached Diane, who was still sitting on her stopped riding mower near the wetlands. she quietly pointed towards a spot in the tall grass just five feet from where she had stopped. This recently-born spotted Whitetail fawn lay motionless, instinctively curled up in the tall grass to remain invisible. (Photo by Randy Wingett, June 6, 2009)
